Tournament Rules & Etiquette

Rules of Play
USGA Rules of Golf and Etiquette shall apply except as amended by any local rules, which will be provided. Players should be familiar with all rules before play begins. Obscene or foul language and littering will not be tolerated.

Spectators
We appreciate spectator support of the tournaments. Recognizing that this is a competitive athletic event, we ask that where possible spectators stay at least 25 yards from the participants and be mindful of the high level of concentration needed by the players. No spectator carts are allowed. Players may not seek advice from anyone during a tournament round, including parents and other spectators (caddies prohibited). All ages of players must walk the course and carry their own bags.

State Long Drive Contest
We are pleased to offer our annual Boys & Girls State Long Drive Contests, sponsored by Great American Insurance Company. The boys and girls contest will be held after play is completed on Saturday during the State Tournament.

Entry Fees
Entry fees must be received with the application. For your convenience, credit cards may be used by completing the “Payment” section of the application. 2008 Fees are: $50 for all Regional Tournaments (after May 23: $75) and $75 for the Boys and Girls State Tournaments (Girls: after June 20: $115; Boys: after July 1: $115).

Expenses
All expenses permitted under the regulations of the N.C. High School Athletic Association, the National Collegiate Athletic Association and the U.S. Golf Association are paid for those who play in the national tournament. Such players are responsible for checking with their school officials, if their school is in session during the time of the tournament, to ensure compliance with the NCHSAA.

Confirmation
Once an application is received and processed, registrants will receive a post card or e-mail confirming their acceptance. A second mailing is sent to notify players of their tee times and pairings one week in advance of their tournament. Also, tee times will be posted on this website.
