Regional Exemptions

Select players are invited to play in the Boys State Tournament without qualifying through a regional tournament. The exemptions are based the following criteria:

·         Top 10 finishers from the previous year's Trusted Choice Big "I" Junior Classic state tournament
 

·         Top 20 players ranked by the CGA (Carolinas Golf Association) as of  April 1^st  of the current year
 

·         High School Champions for 1A, 2A, 3A & 4A (conducted by the NCHSAA) for the current academic school year (individuals, not teams)
 

·         Independent High School Champions for 1A, 2A, 3A & 4A (conducted by the NCIHSAA) for the current academic school year (individuals, not teams)

To receive an exemption, players must not have turned 19 before the last day of that year's national tournament (same age cut-off for the rest of the tournament field).

If a player chooses to play in a tournament from which he is exempt, his exemption is forfeited.
